Witch Hazel, Like Sudocrem, I use not for its primary reason, but as a spot treatment.
At the £2-£3 mark its another bargain, that has become a staple in my beauty box. I use Witch Hazel in place of a toner to help clear up my blackheads and spots.
It can also be used to help heal nappy rash, grazes, bruises, chicken pox, varicose veins, haemorrhoids and even to sooth poison ivy. It can help to prevent infections on cuts and nicks.
My second favourite use, for Witch Hazel, after soothing and clearing up acne, is under eye bags. Witch hazel tightens the skin. Applying to the under eye area will reduce puffiness and is much less drastic and embarrassing than using Preparation H!
Much gentler and cheaper than most cleansers and toners. the ever effective Witch Hazel is available at most chemists, as well as supermarkets and high street shops like Boots and Superdrug. What's not to love?
